ACP Manifest

What an ACP manifest is, why it matters, and what to send your developer or platform support.

What this is

An ACP manifest is a small public file at yourstore.com/.well-known/acp. It tells AI commerce systems how your store can be read and used.

For most merchants, this is not something you should hand-code yourself. Think of it as a technical setup file your developer, agency, hosting provider, or platform support may need to publish for you.

Why it matters

AI shopping systems need reliable ways to understand product access, commerce capabilities, and transaction-related endpoints. If the file is missing or invalid, those systems may treat your store as unavailable for deeper AI commerce workflows.

Can you fix it yourself?

Usually no. On hosted platforms such as Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, and BigCommerce, publishing files under /.well-known/ can require an app, proxy, external hosting, platform support, or developer help.

Shopify theme assets and Shopify Files alone do not publish the required /.well-known/acp URL on your storefront domain.

Message to send

Please publish a valid ACP manifest at /.well-known/acp on our store domain.

It should return HTTP 200, serve JSON, and include the required ACP fields for our commerce capabilities. Please do not publish this only as a theme asset or CDN file; it needs to resolve at https://ourstore.com/.well-known/acp.

After publishing, please confirm the URL opens in a browser and returns JSON.

How to verify

Open https://yourstore.com/.well-known/acp in a browser. It should load directly, return a 200 response, and display JSON rather than a storefront page, 404 page, redirect loop, or CDN-only asset URL.
