Variant data describes product options such as size, color, material, bundle, SKU, price, image, and availability.

Why it matters

AI shopping systems need to recommend the right option, not only the parent product. Weak variant data can cause wrong-size, wrong-color, or out-of-stock recommendations.

Usually yes in the product admin. Custom feeds or custom product pages may need developer help.

What to check

  • Use real platform variants rather than separate unrelated products.
  • Add variant-specific SKUs, prices, images, and stock.
  • Name options clearly: Size, Color, Material, not generic labels.
